GlossOff Pro Methyl Ester Finish Remover 5 L

GlossOff Pro

Low-ammonia ester-based stripper aimed at tight mechanical ventilation budgets—students trade slightly higher product cost versus reduced irritant fumes and narrower pad selection.

Characteristics

  • Primary use: same finish families as alkaline strippers but often specified for daycare wings and night-shift retail where NH₃ complaints are audited
  • Chemistry: fatty acid methyl ester solvent package with buffered builders (overall less caustic “feel” yet still SDS corrosive-class in simulation)
  • Format: concentrate, 5 L ready to pour into metering station
  • Typical dilution: 1:6–1:10; warm (not hot) rinse improves polish pickup according to GlossOff training bulletin GO-417
  • Mechanical aid: rotary + melamine-derived pads per pad matrix poster (do not reuse strip pads labelled for alkaline-only lines)
  • Dwell: often 10–18 min simulated on triple-coat metallised acrylic—validate with scrape test quadrant
  • Throughput vs caustic: comparable m²/hour if slurry stays wet; penalty if crew sizes down because of mis-timed pickup
  • Safety: still requires gloves/face shield/respirator per SDS GF-903; forbid mixing residues with TorchLine solvent degreasers in shared tanks
  • Environmental class exercise: biodegradable ester fractions vs phosphate loads from other strip families
  • Not for: rapid response on urethane fortified finishes labelled “non-strip aqueous”; verify OEM letter first

Worth the VOC worksheet hassle

Our cohort preferred it over the ammonia-heavy stripper drills—fewer throat complaints once ventilation actually ran. Pad chart discipline matters or you glaze the vinyl.
